Overall Vision
To enhance school improvement through the effective recruitment, retention and development of a quality school workforce.
Overall Aim
To support schools in the planning and development of their workforce through a process of continuous improvement, building on well developed and successful partnership approaches and activities, with tangible, better outcomes for children and young people.
Key Focus & Principles
- Invest in and value the children's workforce in schools in terms of their professional status, development and work life balance.
- Effective and focused partnership working provides the framework for the delivery and support of the workforce modernisation agenda for schools.
- Focus on outcomes that bring about school improvement through building schools' capacity for innovative solutions and sharing best practice.
- Long term planning and investment is essential for the recruitment and retention of the children's workforce in schools.
As well as the wide range of support offered to school support staff we are increasingly working on initiatives to incorporate the wider children’s workforce. One example of this is the development of a common induction package for all those who work with children.
